WELCOME
The Rockford Medical Alumni Association steps in where the
College left off – giving graduates the opportunity
to stay connected and join a family of committed alumni.
The mission of the Rockford Medical Alumni
Association is to maintain relationships with graduates,
and facilitate alumni interest and participation in College
activities.
The Medical Alumni Board consists of medical
alumni and graduates of the Family Practice Residency program
and directs the activities of the Rockford Medical Alumni
Association. The Alumni Board sponsors student programs,
selects the Distinguished Alumni Award and the Student Travel
Award recipients, and communicates campus alumni news and
information.
2002-03 BOARD OFFICERS:
Dennis Norem, MD ’79, President
Richard Londo, MD, FPR ’75, Vice President
Glenn Netto, MD ’80, Secretary/Treasurer
A NEW PARTNERSHIP
The Rockford Medical Alumni Association became a Constituent
Alumni Association of the University of Illinois Alumni
Association (UIAA) in January 2002. The Alumni Board unanimously
approved becoming its own Constituent Association apart
from the College of Medicine at Chicago, since many Rockford
graduates identify strongly with the Rockford site, not
necessarily with Chicago.
Constituent Associations are formal extensions
and valued partners of the University of Illinois Alumni
Association. The benefits of this direct connection with
the UIAA includes expanded services for Rockford alumni.

ALUMNI-SPONSORED STUDENT PROGRAMS
The Rockford Medical Alumni Association provides generous
support to student programs with the intent that medical
students leave Rockford with a positive educational experience.
Alumni make generous contributions to provide funding each
year for many student programs and services.
SHARE YOUR BEST PRACTICES
The Alumni Assisting Applicants (AAA) for Residency program
at the College of Medicine at Rockford is an opportunity
for alumni residing throughout the nation to serve as a
resource to Rockford medical students. Alumni offer valuable
insights to students as they explore specialty choice and
residency programs. All graduates of the College of Medicine
at Rockford are welcome to participate.
How much you help is up to you.
You may simply choose to share information in a phone call
or e-mail, or you may decide to meet face to face with students
to offer ongoing support. It’s up to you.
