L.P. Johnson Family Health Center

The L.P. Johnson Family Health Center is a
full-service family practice facility and is part of the University of Illinois College of Medicine's Family Practice Residency Program.

The Family Health Center is staffed with highly qualified faculty physicians and resident physicians who have earned the Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree. Faculty physicians always supervise the residents. The presence of licensed nurse practitioners enhances the delivery of quality care and education.

  • Acute and Chronic Adult Care
  • Acute and Chronic Child and Adolescent care
  • Women’s’ health including endometrial biopsies, breast feeding classes, preventative and prenatal care
  • Endocrinology including intensive diabetes care, diabetic education, insulin pumps, thyroid ultrasounds, hormonal problems
  • General Preventive Health Care
  • Smoking cessation counseling
  • Joint injections
  • Toe nail removal
  • Minor wound care
  • EKG
  • Geriatric and nursing home care
  • Onsite lab and x-ray
  • Multiple languages including Chinese, Spanish and Thai
  • Referral assistance with insurance and specialty physicians
  • Financial counseling including assistance with Kid Care applications
  • Stress Tests
  • Flexible Sigmoidoscpy
  • Colposcopy
  • LEEP
