Dean’s Council

The Dean’s Council was established in 1993 and reorganized in 1997. The purpose of the Dean’s Council is to serve as the primary advocate for the College of Medicine within the Greater Rockford Region. Members of the Council will use their professional and personal relationships to assist the College in establishing and maintaining relationships with regional leaders, news media, philanthropic agencies and other institutions throughout northern Illinois.

The intended outcomes of the work of the Council are:
1. To promote greater visibility and understanding of the College of Medicine within the corporate sector, health care field, philanthropic community and greater Rockford region.
2. To create an effective, high-level leadership organization to work on behalf of the College of Medicine and to provide the Dean with insight on community perspectives with regard to College issues.
3. To establish new partnerships of financial and other support within corporations, foundations, government agencies and individuals.
